I'm going to backtrack a bit (well quite a bit actually) to our trip to Manitoba last month. After an amazing week at Falcon Lake, we headed to Hecla (on Lake Winnipeg- the 11th largest freshwater lake in the world!) for a Thorlakson family reunion. We hadn't seen many of Erik's cousins in 10 years! There was some great music, fun visiting and beautiful weather! Then the next day (our last day of our trip), we headed back down to Gimli (also on Lake Winnipeg) for Islendingadagurinn (Icelandic Festival) where we got to watch Erik's aunt, uncle and cousins perform at the Gimli Folk Music Festival (that they started 40 years ago). What a wonderful weekend filled with great memories...
